U.S. Medal of Freedom Recipient Andrew Berry

Berry left his position as Professor of Mathematics at Lawrence College to become a civilian operations analyst for the Air Force in East Asia. He developed a flexible mount which improved sight lines for gunners on B-24 bombers.

Berry taught mathematics at Lawrence from 1935 until his retirement in 1974. He died at the age of 91 on January 13, 1998.
