"Family Portrait "
Hyannis Port, November 1960
On Wednesday, November 9, the morning after Election Day, at about 11:00 am, John F. Kennedy finally won election. The entire family of Kennedys and in-laws was present and I realized that this would be the one and only time to take a historic family portrait. After pleading with Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy he finally recognized the moment as well and ordered everyone to assemble in the library. Standing from left are: Ethel Skakel Kennedy, Stephen E. Smith, Jean Kennedy Smith, JFK, Robert F. Kennedy, Patricia Kennedy Lawford, Joan Bennett Kenndy, Peter Lawford. Sitting from left: Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, Joseph P. Kennedy, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, Edward Moore Kennedy, and Sargent Shriver.

"The Open Car, Pennsylvania Ave."

President Kennedy and Jacqueline return from the swearing in to the VP residence in the White House. The open car is frighteningly reminiscent of the fatal day in Dallas.

Over the years the rocking chair has become a symbol of the Kennedy Years.
